more about our Toddler/Twos programs.
Our staff has great respect for the success of our toddlers and
2-year-old children. Teachers plan for age-appropriate activities based on their weekly theme, give opportunitites for free exploration to foster independence, and take advantage of "teachable moments" throughout the day. Self-help skills are encouraged, along with potty training in the Twos program.
We focus on the social aspects of group care with support in strengthening friendships and by modeling empathy for others.
Our toddler/twos participate in art, music, and dance activities
or cuddle up on a teacher's lap while exploring books. Classroom learning centers are open and inviting for them to explore and learn through play. The children enjoy sensory-play experiences, cooking projects, and learning about nature on our walking field trips. We also provide many toys and equipment that help with fine and gross motor skill development.
The focus on language development includes object naming, simple sentences and conversations, expanding vocabulary,
and the naming of body parts, colors, shapes, and feelings.
"He has now been in the toddler room for about 9 months. I feel great about leaving my son here every day with his wonderful teachers and buddies in class." - Sariah T.
